Michael Rosenberger currently serves as the Director
of Food Service for the Irving Independent School
District, located just outside of Dallas, Texas. Since his
hire there in September 2000, the Irving ISD Food Service Department has been recognized both in the state and across the country as a leading school food service organization.
Prior to joining the school food service industry in the early 1990s, Mr. Rosenberger was employed in the marketing department of a leading food manufacturer. Mr. Rosenberger worked for approximately seven years in a Houston-area school district's food service department, helping to lead that department to several significant accomplishments, including being recognized with the TASN "Program of Excellence" award.
Mr. Rosenberger is a member of several professional organizations, and has served in numerous leadership positions in local and state organizations. He was named the 2004 recipient of the FAME "Rising Star" award and has been nominated several times for the IFMA Silver Plate award. Under his leadership, the Irving ISD became in 2004-2005 the largest Texas school district to receive a perfect CRE review. Through a partnership between the Food Service Department and T.J. Lee elementary school, the Irving ISD in 2007 became the first school district in Texas to have a campus earn the prestigious USDA Silver School designation. The Irving ISD Food Service Department and T.J. Lee elementary school were recently featured in a film titled "Cooks for Kids". Produced by the NFSMI, this film highlights outstanding nutritional practices in nine schools from across the country.
Mr. Rosenberger earned a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Houston. He later earned a master of business administration degree from the University of Houston.
